Field update: 14 Irrigation Distribution Uniformity tests in 16 days

Jaya Suneja and our crew conducted 14 irrigation distribution uniformity experiments over 16 days in partnership with Conor Higgins and his team at the Yolo County Resource District. As part of her masters thesis, Jaya is working on automating approaches for assessing irrigation distribution uniformity in irrigated agricultural systems. Irrigation distribution uniformity is very important for understanding the performance of an irrigation system and whether it is delivering even amounts of water (and nutrients!) across an agricultural field or orchard. This work is being funded by the Almond Board of California and Department of Biological Systems Engineering at UW–Madison.
